Final Fantasy IV is a two book light novel series by Ichiro Tezuka. These light novels were released in 2009 to promote the DS remake of Final Fantasy IV. Ichiro Tezuka, the author of this light novel, was the storywriter of Final Fantasy IV: The After Years and Final Fantasy Dimensions.
The Final Fantasy IV light novels never received an official English localization. Only Japanese language versions of the novels exist. I would recommend having a Japanese reading ability of at least JLPT N2 to fully enjoy them.
Light novel are similar to young adult novels. Each chapter has an illustration but the books are very text heavy.
